Free and open to the public. The Shawnee Fire Company is sponsoring a golf tournament on Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort, located in the historic village of Shawnee on Delaware as a fundraiser for the Fire Company. Rain date is Wednesday, October 5th. Golfers are required to wear collared shirts, soft spikes, and denim is not permitted on the course. Golf Tournament Application Shawnee Fire Company has been providing emergency services for over 65 years to those who live and vacation in and around our village, and throughout the surrounding area. Times have changed as well as the requirements of our department. Being an all-volunteer department requires our members to raise funds in order for us to operate. The same people who fight the fires are the ones who help serve food at any one of our dinners. We rely on support from the Community to assist us in our continued efforts to provide quick and efficient emergency services. One of our largest fundraisers for the year is our Annual golf tournament held at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort on the last Wednesday of September. This tournament accounts for about 40% of our fundraising efforts each year. We would appreciate any type of donation you would be willing to offer to assist in the success of our tournament. Whether it is in the form of a gift certificate or a prize that we can give away, your generosity is much appreciated. You could also sponsor a hole at the golf tournament. There you will have the name of your organization on a tee box during the golf tournament for all who play to see. The sponsorship is $100.00 for a tee sign. If interested, please send a check to the address above, marked golf tournament, by the 15th of September so that we may create your sign in time for the tournament. About us


The Shawnee Fire Company on Delaware provides volunteer services for fire calls, motor vehicle accidents, water rescue, and medical emergencies as first responders within our coverage area and provides mutual aid to surrounding companies.

The Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company was chartered on February 14th, 1945. The first station, which still houses a rescue truck, is attached to Worthington Hall/Shawnee Playhouse in the historic village of Shawnee on Delaware. The Fire Company acts as the trustee's of the Hall.

Since it's modest beginnings over 65 years ago, the Shawnee Fire Company has grown with the growing needs of the community it services. So much so, that in 1993, the new primary station was opened on Hollow Road. This location was chosen due to the proposed development in the valley so that the station would be centrally located.

The new station now houses (5) pieces of apparatus. 2 - brush trucks, 1 - tanker, 1 - engine, and 1 supply pumper. The building also houses a radio/officers room, engineers room, meeting room for its members, a fitness facility with cardio, free weights and various strength machines, and a complete rental facility that can accommodate up to 130 people with full kitchen facilities. Since the company is not fully funded by the municipalities it serves, the rental of this facility is critical to helping the company off set it's operating costs. Ski Shawnee and the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort are also major contributors in services and support in helping the fire company meet its financial commitments.

The Company has always prided itself on purchasing and maintaining quality equipment to service the needs of residents and guests that live and travel through our unique village. Our professionally trained volunteers are outfitted with the best gear available so that they are prepared to serve in whatever capacity the situation calls for.

As we celebrate over 65 years in servicing the needs of the village of Shawnee, and in support of neighboring fire departments, we look forward to continuing to provide the level of service and professionalism that is expected of our company.
