We are an all volunteer organization chartered February 14, 1945 and still dedicated to preserving life and property from fire and other hazards in the villages of Shawnee-on-Delaware and Minisink Hills and surrounding areas. As we celebrate over 70 years in servicing the needs of the village of Shawnee, and in support of neighboring fire departments, we look forward to continuing to provide the level of service and professionalism that is expected of our company.
Being an all-volunteer department requires our members to raise funds in order for us to operate efficiently. The same people who fight the fires are the ones who help serve food at dinners, staff our events, and live/work within the community. Your contribution today helps us serve you better. Thank you! How can I become a member?
When you sign up to be a volunteer firefighter or emergency responder, you'll receive the training and equipment you need. As a member, you'll learn skills to help your community in the case of fire, accidents, natural disasters, etc. There are many ways you can support your community as a member of Shawnee Fire Company. The best way to see what it's like to be a volunteer firefighter is to hear experiences of people who do it each day.
Come to the firehouse 7 PM on Tuesdays and meet those who serve their community in this unique way and learn what their involvement is really like.
